Personal Notes: When I met Matt’s family a decade ago, I quickly learned that Gooey Butter Cake was a Clark family favorite. I always assumed it was kind of like a Clark family secret recipe, only to discover that Gooey Butter Cake is well known in the St. Louis area (where the Clarks are originally from). It is unbelievably delicious and has been called ‘crack’ by some dear Spangdahlem friends. Enjoy!!
